In many cases, it seems that farmland is considered to be in reserve for future residential development. In general, services provide to farming is abour $0.53 for every $1.00 of revenue that farming generates for the county budget. In other words, increasing residential housing oftern leads to increased county budgets to provide for services includeing emergency services, schools, social services, and transportation.
